Logistics: Getting here, accommodation and evening meal

Getting here

Lancaster University is a campus university located just off the M6 motorway. If you are travelling by car, a parking permit will be required. Those travelling by train can either take a taxi from Lancaster train station or take the bus to campus which is located around 3 miles away. Full details of getting here (and away) can be found at: http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/contact-and-getting-here/maps-and-travel/

Accommodation

Rooms have been reserved for speakers who have decided to stay in overnight accommodation on Lancaster University campus. These can be found in House 48 in Cartmel College in the South West of the university site (no. 66 on the campus map). Rooms are conveniently located for both the conference (a 10 minute walk) and the evening meal at Cafe21 (a 5 minute walk). Further details of the room facilities can be found at: http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/users/cartmel/residences.htm

For guests staying in Cartmel, a breakfast is also provided in the adjacent Barker House Farm (no. 65 on the campus map). http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/eat/barkerhousefarm.php

Evening Meal

All speakers are welcomed to a three-course evening meal at Cafe21 beginning at 7.30pm, found above the Infolab (no. 62 on the campus map). Food needs to be selected from a varied menu ahead of time, and details of this will be circulated separately via email. Details of the venue can be found at: http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/eat/cafe21.php

For the more intrepid, there will also be an opportunity for more informal socializing after the meal at one of the many student bars!
